Senior Ministry

Senior Ministry

One of the strengths of Covenant is the multi-generational make-up of our congregation. Therefore, we view our “senior saints” as a cherished and valuable asset.

First, you’ll find them serving in a wide-variety of indispensable ways. Need anything done here at Covenant, just call a senior volunteer. They’ll get the job done right! Furthermore, the combined wisdom of our “senior saints” is awesome. Their life experience and years spent walking with God form an effective base for mentoring and discipling younger generations. They also have time to listen to and pray for the rest of us. In addition, many seniors have reached a time in their lives when they are able to their devote significant financial resources to the ongoing ministry of the church.

Our goal is two-fold: (1) to help our “senior saints” realize the many valuable gifts they have to offer; and (2) to include them in every aspect of the church’s life and ministry. Like relay runners, they are passing the baton to those who will go before them, urging them on toward the goal of bringing others into the Family of God.

To inspire and give cohesiveness to this group, we hold a fall and spring dinner that has always been well attended and proven to be a blessing to all who are present.
