Exaltation-The Warrior in the Baby

It would be easy to face the future with fear. At times the prophets' hearts turned to jelly as they looked into the distant future. But their dismay was transformed to jubilant worship as they saw the triumph of God and his people. The baby who was born in a manger and rode into Jerusalem on a donkey will come back as the Warrior King on a great white horse. In history's grand sweepstakes, we are the greatest winners of all.

Opposition-The Man of Lawlessness Revealed

In Rev. 12 a dragon rises up to destroy a woman about to give birth to a son. Later, the same dragon prowls the earth to devour followers of that son. Throughout history antichrists have tried to destroy Israel. Herod tried to kill the baby and later the Romans crucified the man. In the last days a final antichrist will arise, lawlessness will reign, and many believers will fall away. But the Risen Christ will deliver us from the final tribulation that comes upon the earth, if we are faithful to the end.

Procrastination-A Thief in the Night

When the Magi came to worship a newborn king, God’s people were caught unprepared. Frantically, they searched the dusty prophecies of forgotten Scriptures to discover where the baby might be born. In the same way, Jesus predicts that he will come again “like a thief in the night.” The suddenness of his coming will catch most people unawares. Wise men study the Scriptures and live accordingly so that they won’t be caught in the snare of procrastination.

Preparation-In the Fullness of Time

Preparation-In the Fullness of Time

The common view of history is that it moves in circles/cycles. The biblical view is that it begins with creation and then intersects the Cross while moving in a straight line inexorably to the Second Coming of the Messiah. All the events of history were cosmically orchestrated to fall into place for the First Advent of Christ, and now the final pieces of history are falling in line for his Second Advent. Wise men, both then and now, are able to read the signs of the Advent.
