Are you going through storms right now? Are the waves that batter your soul beginning to erode your hope? Like the disciples, do you wonder if you will make it to the other side? Take heart, my friend. The good news from the sixth chapter of the Gospel of John tells us that we can overcome storms around us when Jesus overcomes the storms within us.
I Peter 5: "Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be self-controlled and alert. . . And the God of grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and stedfast."
Luke 8:11b tells us, ". . . seeds are the Word of God." John Gilman, President of Dayspring International, shares proven strategies for effectively sharing the Gospel.
When you think of God, does he smile at you? Scripture tells us that we can live under the smile of God if we are justified by faith. According to Luther, coming by faith in Jesus Christ to God the Father is the key that opens up the gates of paradise, where we live under the smile of God. For those who are justified by faith, God's smile is unconditional, unchanging, and unlimited. Under His smile, we experience the freedom to rest, rejoice, and run!
