A line from the movie Gladiator says, Death smiles at us all; all a man can do is smile back. This Psalm is a primer on death, showing us how to face our final uncertainty with joyful certainty.
Though no one knows for sure who wrote this Psalm, it is the lament of every suffering saint. Yet it ends with a certainty that, though weeping lasts a night, joy will come in the morning because Gods mercy is immutable.
Sometimes life drives us into barren places and dry seasons. Our life is devoid of passion and our worship as dry as dust. In these times of uncertainty, there is a Shade for our soul.
Darwinism opens Pandoras Box. If we are a random product of chance evolution, then man has little dignity and morality is stripped of meaning. David argues that creation is the basis for mans ultimate dignity and moral certainty.
